The Beginnings

In 1993, Ilse Aschwanden founded the first family-run nursery in Wipkingen – a single centre on Rosengartenstrasse. In 1997, her daughter Andrea Kienle joined the business. Together, they opened two further centres on Rötelstrasse and Scheffelstrasse. When Ilse Aschwanden retired, Andrea took over as managing director.

Growth with a Heart

With each new centre came greater responsibility – but also more opportunities to offer children a second home during the day. In 2014, the Kinderhaus was certified as an INFANS educational nursery. This was followed in 2020 by the opening of our fourth centre on Bucheggstrasse. Today, we look after well over a hundred children across four centres – with more than 50 staff members. The properties, with their large gardens and well-thought-out layout, are an essential part of our identity.

Today and Tomorrow

The third generation has joined the company. Gabriel Kienle continues to run the nursery as managing director, whilst Andrea Kienle supports the business in an advisory capacity as chair of the board. Their commitment remains the same as it was on day one: to provide individual support for every child in an environment that fosters a sense of security and encourages development.
