Age groups

At the Ringelrosen Children’s Centre, we look after children from three months old until they start nursery. Our eleven groups across four locations are organised by age, so that we can support each child at their own pace.

3 to 18 months

In the infant groups, the focus is on closeness, a sense of security and the formation of early bonds. Our carers guide the little ones sensitively through the day – with plenty of physical contact, individual sleep and feeding routines, and an environment that encourages exploration. We ensure a gentle settling-in period, working closely with parents.

19 to 36 months

During this phase, children develop their language, motor and social skills at an impressive rate. Our mixed-age groups provide space for physical activity, creative play and children’s first experiences of being part of a group. The children learn to find their feet within a community, resolve conflicts and put their own ideas into practice. We support this process using the INFANS approach, with targeted observation and individual support.

36 months until nursery school

The oldest children in the nursery are taking on more and more responsibility and preparing for nursery school through play. Through projects, outings, visits to the woods and free play, they develop their independence, ability to concentrate and social skills. Our carers create situations in which the children can make their own decisions and overcome challenges – an important foundation for the next stage.

Transition between groups and locations

As your child moves up to the next age group, they will join a new group – sometimes at the same location, sometimes at a different one. The group leader will discuss the transition with you well in advance. Your child will get to know the new group gradually, accompanied by familiar carers. Where possible, we will agree on your preferred location with you.
